22nd Annual Bosque 4-H Golf Tournament

The annual Bosque County 4-H Golf Tournament Fundraiser will happen COVID style! Due to current COVID regulations and restriction some changes had to be made for this year’s tournament.  All tournament registration will be done at the Extension office, 104 S Fuller in Meridian.  The tournament will span a three-week period, September 8 – 29.  Teams will pay the $200 entry and pick up their official scorecard, 4 ribeye steaks and individual goody bags weekdays during regular office hours, 8 am till 12pm or 1 pm till 5pm…. The youth are our future.  Everyone has heard or made that statement before.  Well, now is the time to invest in our future!  The youth of Bosque County 4-H continue moving forward to the next steps in their lives. Those steps may be high school, college, technical school or the work force.  The 4-H continues preparing youth not only to be productive members of society but confident leaders throughout their lives. 4-H Halloween Hustle 5K

It is always a good idea to plan ahead.  So we’d like to let you know about a new event we have coming up to give you an opportunity to sign up early! Saturday, October 27 Bosque County 4-H will host the 1st Annual Halloween Hustle 5K Fun Run/Walk. Bosque 4-Hers Make a Showing at Ft. Worth

The Fort Worth Stock Show kicked off this past week and Bosque County 4-Hers were there.  Bosque County was represented during the heifer show by three youth as well as one junior team in the Plant ID Contest. Maggie Chaffin was the first to show last Saturday.  Maggie did very well as she competed in a very large Polled Hereford heifer class.  Maggie walked out of the ring smiling with a 6th place finish. Central Texas Youth Fair

The time has come to begin getting your entries in for the 2016 CTYF which will be held March 1-5.  Entry forms can be found at the Extension office or on the Central Texas Youth Fair page of our website, http://bosque.agrilife.org/4-h/central-texas-youth-fair/.    Entries must be postmarked or handed in by February 1.  Late entries will be accepted through February 15 but entry fees will double February 2 – 15.  Rabbits, Home Economics, Ag Mechanics and the Cake Show are all options still available for getting an entry into this… Read More →

District Food Challenge Contest

On Wednesday, December 3 the 4-H District Food Challenge Contest was held at the Bell County Expo Center.  Bosque County sent three teams to compete, one Senior Division and two Junior/Intermediate Division. One Day 4-H Community Service Project

2015 Bosque County 4-H Banquet

The Bosque 4-H Banquet will be held Luau Style on June 12th at Clifton Park, next to the pool.  The Awards Banquet and Dinner will begin at 6:00pm, to be followed by Officer Inductions and a Party at The Clifton Pool.  Dress will be 4-H appropriate, but with the Luau Theme in mind (no swimsuits at the Banquet). Ft Worth Stock Show

The Ft Worth Stock Show is in full swing and Bosque County 4-H is leaving its mark. On Saturday, January 24, Maggie Chaffin took 7th place with her heifer in the Herford class. Maggie did a great job in preparing her animal for show and with her showmanship in the ring. The Plant ID contest was also held on January 24th.
