Central Texas Youth Fair & Swine Validation
We have been busy the last few weeks helping our 4-H members to validate their animals and get ready for livestock shows. The Central Texas Youth Fair is just around the corner! The CTYF is open to exhibitors attending Bosque County schools or Valley Mills ISD, and members of Bosque County 4-H. Though the fair is not until March 3-7, 2015, some entries and fees are due by December 10, 2014, while others are not due until February 2, 2015. Central Texas Youth Fair is happening THIS week!
Come visit the fairgrounds in Clifton and support the youth of Bosque County, February 27 thru March 1. The Home Economics building will be open Thursday and Friday for the public to view exhibits. Market rabbits will show Thursday evening at 7:30 PM. Ag Mechanics will show on Friday morning at 8:00 AM. The CTYF Builds “Coolness”
This past week I was traveling around the county to supervise the 4-H livestock projects that will be exhibited in the Central Texas Youth Fair slated for February 25 – March 1. Our kids have been and will continue to work with their animals in preparation for the event. I can remember, oh so long ago, when I was a 4-H member, the hours and hours of time I spent practice-showing my animals and grooming them in preparation for the show. Central Texas Youth Fair Thank You Notes
Congratulations to all of you who made the sale at this year’s Central Texas Youth Fair! With this honor come a few obligations. Please remember to provide thank you notes and plaque to your buyer(s). The cost of the buyer’s plaque was deducted from your sale check. 4-H members will receive their plaques at the awards banquet on August 17, 2013. Central Texas Youth Fair
The 2013 Central Texas Youth Fair is in full swing this week! Find all the information, along with a schedule for this year’s events on our website at www.bosque.agrilife.org. Bosque County’s 4-H has a total of 53 entrants. Projects include animals, baked products, home economics exhibits, and agriculture mechanics projects. Please come out and support the youth of Bosque County.
