New 4-H Archery Club
We are so proud to announce Bosque County’s newest 4-H Club: the Bosque Bullseyes Archery Club! Last week, the new club met to adopt bylaws and elect officers. The archery club will continue to meet practice their archery skills every Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Clifton Armory. The club will hold a monthly business meeting on the second Tuesday of the month before practice. Congratulations to the Bosque Bullseyes Archery Club and their new officers!
Archery
4-H Archery has started practice again. Practices are held every Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Armory in Clifton. Archery class is for 4-H members in 3rd through 12th grades of all abilities from beginners to the very advanced. Practices this year will include indoor, outdoor, and 3D. Participants will learn safety about shooting, how to properly maintain shooting equipment, as well as how to improve their shooting skills. Equipment is available for those who don’t have their own. Bosque County to Compete in District 4-H Rifle Match
The District 4-H Rifle Match will take place on May 3rd in Oakwood, near Buffalo. Bosque County 4-H started the new .22 rifle project in late 2013 and meet at Chandler’s Shooting Range monthly. This will be the first competition for the kids since the project began. Project Leader, Myron Lee, has been a blessing to the youth in this project and he is excited to coach their first rifle match. 4-H Members Excel in 3D Archery Tournament
The 2014 Sure Shots 4-H Invitational 3D Archery Tournament was held on April 19th in Gatesville. Bosque County 4-H members, along with their parents, had a great time at this fun, outdoor shoot. Bosque County Results: Court Kretzmeier – 1st place Gentleman Junior Compound Aided Merritt Kretzmeier – 1st place Ladies Junior Barebow Kenzie Kretzmeier – 2nd place Ladies Intermediate Compound Aided The following youth also competed – Laramie Crockett, Shelby Crockett, and Gardner Guillory.

Bosque County 4-H Invitational Archery Tournament Results The archery tournament hosted by Bosque County 4-H on Saturday, March 15 turned out great! We had 52 total entries and 14 classes, with youth from 17 Texas counties. It was amazing to see the talent that some of these youngsters have with a bow! 4-H Youth Rifle Project Orientation was a Success! On December 2, the Bosque County 4-H Program introduced a new .22 long rifle project at Chandler’s Shooting Range in Valley Mills. This introductory orientation meeting was mandatory for those youth wishing to participate in the project. There were 31 youth participants present at the meeting.
