Hay Show Scholarship Recipients
The first Bosque County Hay Show was held in Clifton in 1979 with the purpose of providing producers information as to the quality of the hay they were producing. By knowing the quality, producers know if their hay has adequate protein or if they need additional supplements to meet the requirements of their livestock. Along with the hay from this contest, the committee has fundraised to provide scholarship opportunities to FFA & 4-H members from Bosque County. 22nd Annual Bosque 4-H Golf Tournament
The annual Bosque County 4-H Golf Tournament Fundraiser will happen COVID style! Due to current COVID regulations and restriction some changes had to be made for this year’s tournament. All tournament registration will be done at the Extension office, 104 S Fuller in Meridian. The tournament will span a three-week period, September 8 – 29. Exciting 4-H Projects Beginning
The 2019-2020 4-H Year is off and running this September and so are a number of Family and Community Health 4-H projects. Consumer Decision Making, Fashion & Interior Design, Food Challenge/Food Show (Food and Nutrition), and Photography will begin soon and stretch into the spring! It is always a good idea to plan ahead. So we’d like to let you know about a new event we have coming up to give you an opportunity to sign up early! Saturday, October 27 Bosque County 4-H will host the 1st Annual Halloween Hustle 5K Fun Run/Walk. This event is open to all ages and fitness levels. Texas 4-H Roundup
Texas 4-H Roundup is the pinnacle event for all of Texas 4-H, with more than 4,000 participants competing in approximately 50 diverse competitions throughout the week-long event. The majority of the events require each individual or team to qualify at the county and district level before progressing to State Roundup. Seven Bosque youth brought home 3 awards from the 71st annual Texas 4-H Roundup held at Texas A&M University last week.
