Youth Attending 4-H Teen Leadership Retreat

Bosque County 4-H members are preparing to attend the 2014 Teen Leadership Retreat coming up on January 10-12 at the Texas 4-H Conference Center at Lake Brownwood.
Teen Retreat provides a state level leadership experience for youth, ages 13-19, allowing them to explore new or revised projects and curricula resources and return to implement them in their counties.  Youth will be given the opportunity to hone in on their leadership skills during several programs.  The weekend retreat will feature 4-H volunteers, specialists, and college professors who will be offering hands-on educational workshops – concentrating on five project areas.  This year’s program will focus on increasing knowledge and skills in entomology, fashion, consumer decision making, dance and wildlife habitat.  This is a learning retreat, but the kids also have lots of fun over the weekend, while having the opportunity to meet other 4-H members from all over the state of Texas.
Youth will arrive at 7pm on January 10 for registration, followed by orientation, an adult chaperone meeting, a dance, games, and worship services.
Activities on January 11 begin at 7:30am and include a flag ceremony, breakfast, opening assembly, team activities, lunch, and team challenges.  Much of this day will be devoted to concurrent sessions related to the five featured programming areas, followed by an evening dance, dinner, and worship services.
Activities on January 12 will also begin at 7:30am, with a flag ceremony and breakfast, followed by cleaning of dorms prior to departure at 10am.
2014 Teen Retreat is going to be FUN, and we are really looking forward to it!
