4-H Food Challenge

The 4-H Food Challenge is getting started soon!  The Food Challenge is a great opportunity for 4-H members to show off their culinary skills in a competition similar to the Food Network show Iron Chef!  During the Food Challenge, teams of three to five students are given a set of ingredients and challenged to make a delicious dish.  Team members must work together to develop a recipe and prepare a dish using the ingredients.  Teams then make a presentation to a judging panel describing the preparation steps, serving size, and nutritional value.

Food Challenge is a great opportunity for 4-H Members to exhibit their knowledge and skills when preparing and presenting a dish, to learn to work as a team member, to practice public speaking skills and to learn leadership skills.

Our first Food Challenge practice will be held on Tuesday, October 14, at the Extension Office from 6-7pm.  We will have several more practices and fun events throughout the fall.  For more info, contact Kate Whitney at 254-435-2331 or visit our website at http://bosque.agrilife.org/4-h/projects-contests/foods-nutrition/
