Private Applicator Training and Testing to be held in Bosque County

Tuesday, November 5, 2013 is your best opportunity to acquire your Private Applicator License if you live in Bosque County. Acquiring this license will enable producers to purchase and use restricted-use chemicals such as Weedmaster, Grazon P & D, Tordon and other substances.

The program will be held at the Bosque County AgriLife Extension office at 104 S. Fuller in Meridian starting at 9:00 a.m. November 5th. Brandi Kelm, a Texas Department of Agriculture instructor, will lead the course. The course will last from 9:00am to 3pm, with testing at 1:30 p.m. The cost of $60.00 includes the required study materials, snacks and meal. Registration deadline is Friday, November 1, 2013. Pre-registration is essential as study material has to be ordered by that date.

Contact your local County Extension Agent to schedule the Texas Department of Agriculture required
Private Applicator Training course (Sec. 76.112 of the Texas Department of Agriculture Laws and
Regulations). The training usually takes 4 (four) hours to complete. You should purchase your study
materials in advance to allow time for reviewing the manuals and worksheets. Complete the exercises
before your training date to insure success on the examination.

Private Applicator licenses are renewed every 5 (five) years, the current fee for this license is $60.
Each licensed private applicator must obtain 15 (fifteen) CEUs within a 5 (five) year period including
at least two credits in laws and regulations and two credits in integrated pest management to maintain
their license.
