Roundup Contests

4-H Roundup Share-the-Fun and Educational Presentation Contests

Share-the-Fun gives 4-H members the opportunity to develop self-confidence through a public performance.  This is a competitive event related to the Theater and Performing Arts project.  Different categories allow participants to compete against similar talents, but have a wide variety of ways to compete.  Categories include Choreographed Routines, Dramedy, Poetry/Prose, Vocal, Celebrate 4-H, Musical/Instrumental and Solo/Band Performance.

Educational Presentation competition gives 4-Hers the opportunity to use skills and knowledge that have been gained or encouraged as a result of experiences in a 4-H project.   This is a great opportunity for contestants to use a subject matter in which they are passionate or excited about to help sharpen skills like public speaking, research, organization and decision making.   Many different categories like Agricultural Technology & Farm Safety, Animal Science, Beef, Health & Wellness, Horse, Open, Open Ag & Natural Resources, Open Family & Community Health, Promote 4-H and Safety & Injury Prevention.

Both 4-H event contests begin at the county level with the opportunity to advance to district, state and even national competition in some cases.  You can participate in both contests in most cases. Seniors need to look at the State Roundup Calendar of events because if you advance to state your events CANNOT overlap. For more information contact the Extension Office, 254-435-2331.
