Consumer Decision Making Team advances to State!

 

The District 8 4-H Consumer Decision Making Contest took place on Saturday, March 1, at McLennan Community College’s Emergency Services Education Center.  The objective of this contest is for youth to demonstrate skill in making decisions based on facts, apply knowledge and experience in consumer education by analyzing consumer situations, experience making choices among selected marketplace options, develop and strengthen reasoning ability in consumer skills, and demonstrate their ability to organize thoughts and express them orally in a clear, confident manner.

Contest results:

4th Place Junior Team – Laramie Crockett, Stephen Murphy, Rachel Planer, and Lauren Planer

1st Place Intermediate Team – Daniel Seely, Emily Murphy, Gardner Guillory, and Matthew Murphy

2nd Place Senior Team – Benjamin Murphy, Caleb Murphy, Joshua Murphy, and John Seely

7th Place Senior Team – Elizabeth Seely, Shelby Crockett, and Emma Guillory

 

The Senior Team consisting of Benjamin Murphy, Caleb Murphy, Joshua Murphy, and John Seely will advance to the state competition, which will take place during the Texas 4-H Roundup in College Station on June 9-13.  Only senior aged 4-H members are eligible to qualify for the state contest.
