Cooking with Friends

Cooking with Friends will be rescheduled for September.  Stay tuned for more information!

Is your family always on the go?  Between school, sports, and other activities, it can be hard to find time to cook and enjoy a meal together as a family.  One popular solution to this family dilemma is freezer meals and recipes for slow-cooker meals.  You can just pop one in the slow cooker in the morning, and have a great dinner ready when you get home.

If that sounds like something your family could manage, then join us for an evening of Cooking With Friends!  On Tuesday, August 12, the FCS Committee and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will be hosting a fun-filled evening to prepare several meals that you can take home to freeze for later use.  The program will include a healthy dinner, some great tips for preparing freezer meals, and additional freezer meal recipes.  Then, each participant will prepare three freezer meals to take home.

Cooking With Friends will be held on August 12 from 6pm to 8pm at the Valley Mills High School Home Economics Classroom.  The cost is $15, and each participant must bring the groceries needed to prepare the meals.  Call the Extension Office at 254-435-2331 to register and receive a grocery list of supplies to bring.  Registration deadline is August 5. The maximum class size is eight people, so be sure to register now!
