Is your garden starting to explode with fresh produce? If you are interested in learning how to can your produce to preserve it for later in the year, then join us for a Bosque and Somervell County Food Preservation and Canner Testing Workshop! The workshop will be held at the Glen Rose Expo Center on July 15, 2014 from 9:00am – 3:00pm. During the workshop, you will learn the basics about water bath canning and pressure canning with lots of hands-on experience. Everyone will take home a couple of jars of their own canned produce!
The cost of the workshop is $30 per person, which includes canning supplies, samples and recipes. Please be sure to bring a brown bag lunch. Call the Extension Office at 254-435-2331 to register by July 11th.
If you have never canned before, this is a great opportunity to get some hands –on experience and learn about safely canning your produce. We will also test pressure canners during the workshop to ensure that the canner is sealing correctly and creating enough pressure to properly can your food. Join us for a fun time of canning on July 15!
