Stocker Cattle Program

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension of McLennan, Bosque, Hill, Limestone and Bell counties will be hosting a Stocker Cattle Program on Wednesday, July 6th at the West Auction Barn in West, Texas.  Registration will start at 7:30 am with program to follow at 8:00 am.

Topics to be discussed include:  Producing Premium Calves, Sire Influenced by Dr. Jason Cleere, Beef Cattle Specialist for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service; Market Update, Factors of Stocker Cattle Value by Brian Upmore of the West Auction Barn; Feed & Mineral Supplementation by Kyle Latham of Midcontinent Livestock Supplements; Stocker Health by Dr. Harold Newcomb, Veterinarian-Merck and Theft Prevention by Marvin Wills, Special Ranger for Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

1 General CEU will be offered for individuals holding a Private Applicator’s Pesticide License.  Cost of the program and meal is $20.00 and can be paid at the door.  Breakfast is being provided by Capital Farm Credit and there will be a noon meal.  Please confirm your attendance by contacting the Bosque County Extension Office at 254-435-2331 no later than July 1, or for any other information concerning the workshop.
