The Fort Worth Stock Show kicked off this past week and Bosque County 4-Hers were there. Bosque County was represented during the heifer show by three youth as well as one junior team in the Plant ID Contest.
Maggie Chaffin was the first to show last Saturday. Maggie did very well as she competed in a very large Polled Hereford heifer class. Maggie walked out of the ring smiling with a 6th place finish.
This was Benjamin and Matthew Murphy’s first appearance showing heifers at Fort Worth. They both did a great job working with and handling their animals in the show ring. Benjamin finished 4th in his Hereford class of heifers, while Matthew took 11th place with his Charolais.
Matthew, Stephen and Timothy Murphy were the members of the Junior Division Plant ID Team. They gave a great effort and walked away with a 5th place overall finish.
